How To Install Wamp Server On Computer And Test Wordpress Locally

Design your site or create a new theme for your Wordpress powered blog using Wamp Server. do it offline by installing Wordpress locally in your computer with wampserver.

Download Latest Wamp Server

Once downloaded the wamp server, run the installer.
It is recommended to Install It in the Default path “ C:Wamp” . I would recommend using the default location to avoid any potential issues.

Configure Wamp server

After completion of the installation, double click on the desktop icon. An icon of Wamp Server appears in the System tray.

Now click on that icon from the System tray and click on “Start All Services”.

It activates your Wamp Server.

WordPress Installation Process:

1. Creating Database

You can create a database from the phpMyAdmin tool. The phpMyAdmin opens in a new window within your default browser. The address should be “http://localhost/phpmyadmin”. Give any name of the database in the box labeled as “Create database” and click the Create button. The database should be created successfully.

For instance, I have created the data base named as “sample”.
That’s all you have done to start installing WordPress in your Local Server.

2. Download Latest Wordpress

3. Configuring WordPress files

point a folder at the location C:>wamp>www and give any name of the folder as you like. Example " Sample ". Same as Database name

Now extract the downloaded zipped file of WordPress. Copy the content of the extracted folder and paste them in (C:>wamp>www>sample) . then Find out the file named as wp-config-sample.php in the same folder (C:>wamp>www>sample) and open it with notepad or any text editor. then edit this line with the image shown below. The file should be like this:

Or Download this instant wp-config.php file and paste its into your C:>wamp>www>sample folder. Download from here

Once you are done, save the file and rename it as wp-config. (Default is wp-config-sample, rename it to wp-config.)

5. start with your WordPress blog

Type “http://localhost/sample/wp-admin/install.php” in your browser address bar and press Enter.

Fill the fields and click on theInstall Wordpress

after install you can login using this http://localhost/sample/wp-login.php with your username and password. After logging in, you can change the password as your choice.
